Experimental Music

I and two other people in my group, Ashley and Seb, wrote this Piece of Experimental music. We decided to work together because of our different tastes in music and the different ways we wrote our music.

We mainly drew inspiration from two different artists, Coco Rosie and Peter Gabriel. We aimed originally to have a whole song written using different loops from sounds. We ended up creating a drum loop using noises like popping, clicking, banging on desks and tapping the microphone. However because of time constraints we chose to write the rest of the piece using unusual instruments, to keep an unusual sound.

We also took ideas from Peter Gabriel, mainly having drones throughout out track, to give the piece some sense of order. These drones were the drum loop and the main “melody” which you can hear.
